LPG gas fitting and conversions to mains gas
Bottles, regulators and appliance work, and the conversion the other way when mains gas turns up in your street. LP gasfitting is its own licence class, and we hold it.

Plenty of properties up here run on bottles, because that is what was available when the house went in. Two cylinders, a changeover valve, and a regulator that has usually been there longer than the current owner.
LP gasfitting sits under its own class on a NSW licence. We hold it alongside gasfitting, plumbing, drainage and roof plumbing, so a bottle install, an appliance changeover or a conversion to mains is one trade and one certificate.
What we handle
- Cylinder installations, changeover valves and regulators
- Regulator and hose replacement on an ageing installation
- LPG appliance installation, certified
- Converting an appliance between LPG and natural gas where the appliance allows it
- Connecting to mains gas once it reaches your street, with the gas fitting done in the same visit
- Leak testing and making an LPG installation safe
- Bottle relocation to meet clearance requirements
- Cabins, studios and granny flats running on bottled gas
Why it's different up here
Whether mains gas reaches your street up here varies street by street, sometimes house by house, so it is worth confirming before you plan a conversion rather than after you have bought an appliance. If you are on bottles, the part worth checking is the regulator. They do not last forever, and an old one is the usual reason a heater runs poorly on a cold night when demand across the whole installation is highest.
The things people ask
Can my LPG heater run on natural gas?
Sometimes. A lot of appliances have a conversion kit that changes the injectors and the regulator setting, and plenty of others were never designed to be converted. We check the data plate before anyone spends money, and the conversion has to be done and certified by a licensed gasfitter either way.
Is LPG a different licence to normal gas?
Yes. LP gasfitting is its own class. Licence 479856C carries Plumber, Drainer, Gasfitter, LP Gasfitter and Roof Plumber, which you can check yourself on the NSW licence register.
How do I find out if mains gas is available at my address?
The gas distributor for your street is the one who can answer it, and the answer is not the same across a whole suburb. We can also tell you a fair bit from what is already at your meter and in the street, so ask when we are there.
