What we are licensed to do
The business holds NSW contractor licence 479856C, which covers five classes: Plumber, Drainer, Gasfitter, LP Gasfitter and Roof Plumber. That is the whole of what a house needs, which is why the gas is not subcontracted to somebody else and the roof drainage is not somebody else's problem either. You can check the licence yourself on the NSW Fair Trading register.
Why a mountains plumber is different
Katoomba sits about a kilometre up and runs roughly seven degrees colder than Sydney. Pipes that would never freeze on the coastal plain split up here, sandstone is shallow so drainage falls are hard won, and the drive back down the hill for a fitting costs half a day. We carry the parts that fail at this altitude rather than the parts that fail at sea level.
How we work
We tell you what a job takes before we start it. If something can safely wait until morning we will say so rather than charge an after-hours rate for it, and if a repair is not worth doing we will tell you that too. Everything is left tested and working, and the compliance paperwork that goes with gas and drainage work is part of the job, not an extra.
